Our History
Burrowa House is a Not-For-Profit Community Owned Aged Care facility which provides affordable accommodation for Ageing Boorowa residents. The facility opened in 1993 and is one of three business units under the banner of Boorowa Hostel Incorporated. The other two business arms are the Retirement Village and the Housing Department cottages.
Burrowa House initially started with twelve beds before expanding to twenty beds in 2021. The Aged Care wing has a Registered Nurse on duty 24/7 with a fulltime Facility Manager overseeing the clinical and staffing day to day operations whist a full-time Business Manager ensures all things business related are addressed by a team of part-time administration staff.
In recent times the facility has been upgraded to be able to provide palliative care and avoiding having to move the resident out of the facility, providing on site care and support to the resident and their loved ones. Families are able to use our sunroom for comfort whilst they stay with their loved one in this time.
